160 Enterprise Software Startups That Could Be for Sale This Year
Many enterprise software startups that raised money at steep valuations between 2020 and 2022 face diminishing options. Venture capitalists who previously sank funds into these startups have shifted much of their money toward AI. Stocks in public enterprise software companies have fallen sharply. When the startups’ backers push for cash returns, the most likely exit is a sale.
To find the companies facing the most pressure to sell themselves, The Information screened for privately owned U.S. enterprise software firms valued at $1 billion or more that haven’t publicly announced funding in at least two years, according to PitchBook, and talked to more than 30 founders, investors and bankers about likely candidates. Since the last time we compiled the list, the number of startups on the list has nearly doubled to more than 160. See the full list here.
