Alex Cooper’s popular “Call Her Daddy” podcast was one of a handful to host Democratic presidential hopeful Kamala Harris in the run-up to November’s election. But she could have hosted both candidates. Donald Trump’s campaign reached out about appearing on the show, Cooper said on stage at the New York Times’ DealBook Summit on Wednesday.

“We had a Zoom call with Trump’s team,” she said. “Although I didn’t want to technically get into politics, I did recognize there was a larger conversation that was directly impacting my audience,” which she describes as a “bunch of women looking for someone to advocate for them every single day.” Cooper didn’t attend the call herself and ultimately chose to host Harris for a 44-minute interview.
