How Bill Ready Remade Pinterest—And Its C-Suite

Bill Ready has transformed Pinterest from a struggling social media firm under activist investor pressure to a growing company. While he may have calmed investors’ concerns, he’s still figuring out the right people to help him run the company.

Ready, a former president of commerce and payments at Google, has overhauled his management team more than once since taking the helm in mid-2022, as he has refocused Pinterest on its original product of online scrapbooking boards, where people can pin images they like. The previous management under Ben Silbermann focused less on the scrapbooking boards, instead concentrating on competing with other social media firms in areas like the short videos made popular by TikTok.
