Deel Bolsters Governance as It Fights Spying Claims
The fintech is moving its official headquarters out of a two-bedroom apartment in San Francisco and making changes to its legal and compliance staff.
Global payroll startup Deel is bolstering its governance and ending some of its unusual practices as it fights accusations in a lawsuit that its CEO and board chair recruited and paid a corporate spy at its archrival, Rippling.
Deel is moving its official corporate headquarters from its current location: a two-bedroom apartment in a San Francisco luxury high-rise. The fintech startup, which was valued at $12.6 billion in its most recent fundraising, has a fully remote workforce and said in a court filing that the apartment was for “receiving mail only.”
