Google Exec Says Data Gives It an Edge in AI Search
Google’s head of search, Liz Reid, said her company’s data and experience building search products will give it an advantage in developing artificial intelligence-powered search, as Google faces competition from newer search-related entrants such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Perplexity.
“We have really great data beyond the web on things like products and maps and sports data, that people really care about the specific data across,” Reid said at The Information’s Women in Tech, Media and Finance conference on Tuesday. “And then we have this long experience on pulling the technology together with the information, with the user experience to build the product that people love.”
