How Apple Could Reinvent the Mobile App
I’ve swung back and forth all week on whether Apple’s forthcoming iOS 8 mobile software is a major breakthrough or an incremental release with some flashy new features for power users. I’ve heard both views from developers and industry execs, who appear fairly split.
I left Monday’s keynote unveiling underwhelmed. Sure, a couple of cool things caught my eye, like the ability to start typing an email on your phone and finish it off on your Mac. But overall, I was left with the sense that six years into the App Store, not much has changed. Then, I looked a little closer.
