Magic Leap Departures; A Look at Meta’s VR Open Source Support

A string of executives have lately exited Magic Leap, Reality Check has learned, including some people who joined earlier this year. These exits, previously unreported, add to the air of uncertainty around the company’s future. 

Tracey Trewin, Magic Leap’s Chief Product Officer, and Anuj Gosalia, Chief Software and Cloud Officer both left the company in October. Both had joined last March, arriving after Peggy Johnson took over as Magic Leap’s new CEO last year—all three have experience working at Microsoft in the past, where Johnson had been an executive VP. Randall Hand, a longtime Magic Leap employee who last held a role as VP of Cloud Products, also left the company this fall.
