The House Financial Services Committee’s Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology and Inclusion has asked representatives of the OCC to appear at a hearing on Tuesday. A committee staffer said representatives are expected to probe how the agency came to appoint Prashant Bhardwaj as deputy comptroller and head of its newly established Office of Financial Technology in March. Bhardwaj quietly left the role just months after he started.
