Microsoft’s New Security Chief Replaces Top Execs to Force an AI Overhaul

Microsoft, the largest cybersecurity software seller in the world, is overhauling that business to cash in on corporate anxieties about AI-powered hacks.

Hayete Gallot, who took over Microsoft’s security business in February, has directed more teams to develop AI security products such as those that find bugs in IT systems. At the same time, she is making cuts to some more traditional security products as well as consolidating engineering teams. In doing so, she has replaced several senior executives who previously reported to the group’s prior leader, according to people with direct knowledge of the changes.
