The People With Power at SAP as It Remakes Itself for the AI Era

SAP is in the midst of an artificial intelligence–fueled overhaul. The 53-year-old German enterprise software giant has undertaken a massive reorganization over the past year and a half, cutting 8,000 jobs since the start of 2024 as it aims to use AI for cost savings while hiring in new areas focused on selling enterprise AI applications. Today we’re publishing an org chart identifying more than 30 of the top executives leading SAP.

The reorganization is evident in SAP’s most senior ranks: In February the company formed a new “extended board” of executives one tier below the C-suite tasked with overseeing its AI strategy of automating roles to cut costs, as well as convincing customers to spend more for new automation software within its suite of sales, IT and HR software. The extended board includes several newly appointed executives, including Chief Technology Officer and Chief AI Officer Philipp Herzig, co-Chief Revenue Officers Manos Raptopoulos and Jan Gilg, and Chief Marketing Officer Ada Agrait, all of whom previously held lower posts within the company.
