Screentime: Investor Sarah Guo on Pairing Podcasts With Peloton and Why She Carries Her Phone ‘Naked’
The former Greylock partner, now striking out with her own fund, shares her personal phone habits.
After spending the past nine years as a partner at Greylock Ventures, Sarah Guo struck out on her own in June. Now she’s launching her own fund, Conviction, focused on early-stage tech investments (her notable angel investments include FTX and Magic Eden, the leading Solana non-fungible token marketplace). Though she can’t share much about her new project due to securities rules, she is ready to divulge some of her wide-ranging sources of inspiration, from books on the pharmaceutical industry to Billie Eilish tracks to coffin emojis.
What kind of phone do you have and when did you get it?
Blue iPhone XS, maybe 18 months ago. I’m torn between sizes for the next one: a smaller phone that actually fits in my hand or pocket or a larger phone I can do work on.
