Subscribers Say Sequoia, Benchmark Are Valley’s Top VC Firms

Sequoia Capital was overwhelmingly considered the top venture capital firm in Silicon Valley in The Information’s first subscriber survey on the industry. Not only did Sequoia receive the most votes among 10 VC firms for consistently having access to the best deals, but subscribers also ranked it highest for closing the best deals and adding the most value to the tech startups it backs. Benchmark Capital came in second and Greylock Partners third in all three categories, according to the survey.

In an increasingly competitive industry, The Information sought to determine whether the big-name firms remained on top or were losing their luster. We asked not just which firms were able to snare deals, but also which firms distinguished themselves by adding value and helping startups grow.
