In the first podcast of the year, Jessica dropped in to talk about her weekly column, which took a hard look at the problem of gender diversity in Silicon Valley. And it started from an interesting observation about The Information’s subscriber base.

Then Reed explained our latest data-driven project, The Information’s Insider List, that looked at how widespread angel investing is among tech’s top executives. We also discussed how much companies like Facebook and Google actually enforce investing policies and whether they care about conflicts of interest.

And Amir talked about his big story on Monday about the cold war between Facebook and Google. A part of it—Facebook’s test a few years back to test the loyalty of Android users wherein they “broke” the app—made the rounds. But Amir says that wasn’t even the most interesting part of Facebook’s Android war games.
