The Information’s Books of the Year

Besides a book or two on surfing and a few novels, I haven’t read many books this past year. But The Information subscribers are way ahead of me. Our annual list of the books most recommended by subscribers is a motley assortment. It includes a sci-fi cult classic headed to the big screen; a poignant look at the struggles of the white working class; startup advice from partners at Google Ventures.

We solicited recommendations and culled to the 10 most recommended titles. As with previous years’ lists, these recommendations offer plenty for those who want to go beyond the deluge of typical tech news and themes. You can find the list of books below, along with descriptions.
