The People in Charge at Klarna as It Nears a Possible IPO

The board has been in flux, but the executive team remains stable

Klarna is marching with significant momentum toward a possible initial public offering next year. Apple recently added the “buy now, pay later” service as an option on its own payment platform, and some shareholders have reportedly raised their valuation of the company. Plus, Klarna’s revenue growth is accelerating.

The executive team steering the company has remained stable for several years, even amid two board shuffles in 2024. Half of CEO Sebastian Siemiatkowski’s eight direct reports have been at the 19-year-old company for at least seven years, according to The Information’s Klarna Org Chart. They oversee a workforce that is shrinking as the company deploys more artificial intelligence.
