The People in Power at Netflix: An Update

Many Hollywood studios have struggled to restart production, particularly in the U.S. in the past few weeks, given the challenges of navigating social distancing rules on a film set. But Netflix has had an advantage: Over the past couple of years, it has amassed a network of studio facilities overseas, where production has been easier to restart. “The Witcher,” one of Netflix’s biggest hits last year, began filming its second season in Hungary earlier this week, for instance.

The job of securing studio locations and hiring production staff in different countries falls to Ty Warren, a veteran Hollywood production executive, who joined the company in 2016. In late 2018, Netflix expanded his team as its productions ballooned around the world. This expansion is one of the more important changes to the updated org chart we are publishing today, although there’s been a slew of widely reported top-level shifts in the same time period.
