The Personal Trainers Tech Execs Trust
A judo black belt, a former professional triathlete and a ‘stoic philosopher’ are among the fitness pros guiding the likes of Mark Zuckerberg and Max Levchin.
Ozempic be damned. Silicon Valley is holding on tight to its love of the personal trainer.
These are people like Matt Dixon, a San Francisco–based trainer and former professional triathlete whose clients include billionaire Max Levchin. After several decades of whipping folks like Levchin into tip-top shape, Dixon has a thesis for why so many technorati, as he said, “take on massive physical challenges.”
“It’s not just ego or pride or satisfaction,” Dixon said (though surely there’s a little of that going on). He believes the “mindset traits” honed in athletic training translate to the workplace: skills like “tenacity, adaptability, prioritization, communication and collaboration,” he said.
