Twitter Builds a Crypto Team; Most Promising Crypto Startups

Twitter is getting more enmeshed in the cryptoverse. Though “crypto twitter” is shorthand for the vibrant chatter about digital currencies on the social media network, “Twitter Crypto” is the name of the company’s new team focused on blockchain, digital currencies and decentralized technology.

Tess Rinearson, head of Twitter Crypto, tweeted about the new team on Wednesday. Based in Berlin, she was previously a vice president of engineering at decentralized technology company Interchain and at decentralized crypto exchange Interstellar. She said that she wants to expand Twitter’s role in crypto even further, and that she’s interested in looking at how the company can use decentralized technologies to help creators manage virtual goods.
