For most tech companies, expanding in the second most populous nation, India, is central to their growth roadmap. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg last year hosted India’s prime minister at his company’s headquarters. Apple CEO Tim Cook is about to tour the country.

But there’s one tech company that won’t be turning its focus to India anytime soon: Snapchat and its chief Evan Spiegel.
