Wiz Labors to Hire a CFO, Making an IPO Before 2026 Unlikely
Cybersecurity startup Wiz recently turned down a $23 billion acquisition offer from Google to pursue an initial public offering. But the startup faces a major hurdle in that effort: It needs to hire a chief financial officer first, and so far it hasn’t been able to find the right person, said people familiar with the company.
As a result, Wiz likely won’t go public until 2026 at the earliest, one of the people said. That’s a slightly later timeline than some investors were hoping for—CEO Assaf Rappaport had earlier told staff that the company could go public after crossing $1 billion in annual recurring revenue, and that Wiz was on track to do so by mid-2025, The Information previously reported. Wiz has told investors and employees that its ARR has exceeded half a billion dollars.
