The Software Firms OpenAI Works With; o1’s Deception
OpenAI on Monday gave us a deeper look into the software suppliers it works with, specifically those that touch customer data at some point. The list, which includes everyone from Microsoft to Cloudflare to a few smaller and less well known firms, reveals a lot about the enterprise tech stack of one of the most sophisticated and well-funded Silicon Valley startups.
Specifically, it identifies the suppliers OpenAI trusts for web security, content moderation, customer support and other tasks.
Some of the companies on the list—such as Cloudflare, which helps companies deliver web content—aren’t surprising. But others on the new list may be less expected. For instance, Cinder, a little-known trust and safety startup that was founded in 2021 and has raised $14 million in funding, helps OpenAI with content moderation for ChatGPT and its application programming interface, according to the OpenAI post.
And San Francisco-based Intercom aids OpenAI when its customers run into issues and need support. WorkOS, a five-year-old firm, helps OpenAI with single sign-on, or the ability for users to enter one password and gain access to multiple applications.
