The New Influencer Gig: Teaching People to Use AI
As new artificial intelligence tools from companies such as OpenAI and Midjourney have exploded, a cottage industry of creators has developed to teach others how to use them. They’re offering paid classes on how to craft a better prompt for ChatGPT or use AI for filmmaking.
AI-related courses and products are a “rapidly growing” category for Hotmart, which owns course provider Teachable, according to João Pedro Resende, Hotmart’s Brazil-based co-founder and CEO. AI is “really a tailwind for the creator economy,” he said. “There’s no way to ignore it.”
Educational products ranging from AI to fashion design, fitness, and foreign language learning have earned creators on Teachable and Hotmart more than $10 billion in gross merchandise volume since the company was founded in 2011, the company says.
