Welcome to the latest edition of our Pro newsletter. As you know, we recently launched Deep Research, our dedicated dive into the trends and data shaping the tech landscape.

This week, Elon Musk’s xAI dominated headlines, with Linda Yaccarino stepping down as CEO of X, the company’s Grok chatbot coming under fire and xAI unveiling its latest generation of AI models. Deep Research can answer questions like:

  • How are investors valuing xAI?
  • What is xAI’s business model, and how important is X’s advertising revenue to the overall company?
  • How does Grok compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT?

This powerful tool continues to bring you unparalleled insights, and today‘s updates showcase exactly why it’s an essential resource.

Here’s what else is new in Pro:

AI Updates

Our Generative AI Database reveals that Anthropic's annual revenue is now pacing at an impressive $4 billion, a nearly fourfold increase since the start of this year. Meanwhile, AI chipmaker Groq is reportedly in discussions for fresh funding at a $6 billion valuation. If successful, this deal would propel the Nvidia challenger to the top of our AI Chip Database in terms of both valuation and money raised.

Talent Wars

The battle for AI expertise continues to reshape the industry‘s leadership. We’ve been actively updating our org charts to reflect these shifts. Our Meta org chart now notably includes Scale AI's Alexandr Wang as chief AI officer, alongside five direct reports who have transitioned to Wang from Meta Chief Product Officer Chris Cox.

IPO Pipeline

The public markets are heating up! Figma is on track for its highly anticipated debut later in July after revealing its IPO paperwork last week. StubHub and Klarna, however, remain in a holding pattern. On the other hand, Cato Networks recently announced fresh funding, providing it with more time before needing to go public. For the most current information on upcoming listings, be sure to check our Tech IPO Tracker.

Creator Funding Slowdown

Our latest Creator Economy Database tally shows a dip in funding for creator economy startups in the second quarter. U.S. creator startups’ haul totaled $678.9 million, down approximately 8% from a year earlier.
