Memo to the Kamala Harris campaign: Have you checked out Temu? The presidential candidate faces a bunch of voters unhappy with how prices for consumer goods have skyrocketed under President Joe Biden. But she could push back on those complaints by pointing people to the website of Temu, the Chinese-owned bargain-basement shopping service that has taken off in the U.S. in the past two years.

For instance, you could find a sofa bed today on Temu for just $23.10, a dresser for $48 or a dining set for just $87.48! And if you want a greenhouse for your backyard, one can be had for $136. (And judging by this New York Post article about someone proposing with a $38 engagement ring bought on Temu, cheap jewelry is also available.) I bring up these bargains on Temu in light of our scoop today that Amazon is telling merchants who want to sell their wares on its upcoming Temu-rival storefront that it will cap prices there at rock-bottom levels.
