Instacart’s Facebook Hiring Program
Instacart may soon get the nickname “little Facebook,” judging by the number of Facebookers joining the grocery-delivery company. Today came news that Instacart hired Nikila Srinivasan, most recently a product executive at Facebook, to be its first VP of product for international markets. Srinivasan’s hiring follows two other senior hires from Facebook, including Asha Sharma to be COO. And in February, Facebook executive Fidji Simo joined Instacart’s board.
As we reported in this article a month ago, the spate of hires from Facebook is part of a broader battle for tech talent as up-and-coming companies grab people from more established firms. Instacart has been a particularly prolific hirer, as it staffs up ahead of its expected public listing later this year. A few months ago it hired a top Goldman Sachs dealmaker as its CFO as well as executives from Amazon, Uber and Credit Karma.
