‘Speed’ and ‘Growth’ and WTF 2021

A lot of words seem to capture the last 18 months, none of them terribly positive: Virus, death, upheaval and tragedy are some that come to mind.

But two more positive ones that I don’t think are getting enough attention are speed and growth. Throughout the business world—and especially in tech, media and finance—these words capture what so many executives are grappling with alongside all of the unprecedented disruption.

Both words are shaping the theme for this year’s The Information’s Women in Tech, Media and Finance conference, which we so lovingly call WTF. Every year, Jessica Toonkel, myself and our whole team work extremely hard on this important two-day event, our largest in terms of content and audience. This year, its third, it will again be held virtually October 6 and 7.
