Creator+ Sells and Two Startups Find Funding
We’ve got a trio of creator economy scoops for you today, so let’s get right to it.
Creator+, a startup producing and streaming films for creators, has been acquired by Petra Media, a film production company that previously invested in the startup, according to a person familiar with the deal.
The terms of its sale couldn’t be learned. Creator+ last raised $12 million at a $45 million valuation in 2021, according to PitchBook. That was during the height of investor enthusiasm for creator startups, so it would have been hard for the startup to fetch that same price this year. Last year it unsuccessfully tried to raise additional funding and then struck a deal with Petra in May.
