The parent company of Facebook rebranded as Meta Platforms in October 2021. Current CEO Mark Zuckerberg, along with Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes, founded the company in 2004. Meta’s flagship app remains a moneymaker, with robust ad sales revenue, and the company has focused its efforts on its video feature, Reels. Meta is facing headwinds of late with regard to privacy, trust and safety, and payments.
