Scott Thurm is a senior editor at The Information. Prior to The Information, he was most recently business editor of WIRED. Earlier in his career, he spent nearly two decades as a reporter and editor at The Wall Street Journal, and before that at the San Jose Mercury News, Louisville Courier-Journal, and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Globe-Times. He is a two-time winner of the Gerald Loeb Award for Distinguished Business and Financial Journalism, and shared in a Pulitzer Prize.

In our creator economy newsletter, Mahira postulated Instagram Maps feature would be a challenge to Google search, which a senior Google exec's comments at an Aspen conference seemed to back up. Instagram head Adam Mosseri disagrees, writing, "Suggesting the new map feature on Instagram is a “challenge to Google” is a gross exaggeration." Thoughts?
